Founder and Executive Producer Graham Beer started Cobourg News almost 5 years ago, September 8th, 2012 at the age of 12. The first inaugural video report was when Graham’s mom, Susan and her friend Judy almost got killed by a falling tree branch on their way to an art show. After everyone was safe and the tree was attended to along with the fixing of the power that Graham’s Dad, Garth got called out to fix, Graham’s passion for videotaping and journalism came into action. Pulling aside his friend Hunter Straughan who now is Cobourg Media’s Senior Videographer and Kieran McFarlane to help tape the “Tree Report”.

Graham interviewed Susan, Judy, neighbours, friends and so-called tree specialist Stephen Straughan (Hunter’s dad) who had a bit of knowledge about the old maple.  After 2 YouTube parts of the humorous news report, It got great exposure and people encouraged Graham to keep on going and do other reports. 2 years later in 2014, Graham started Cobourg Media, adding the services portion.

Before Cobourg News had even started Graham built Breakfast Television ”Toronto’s #1 Morning Show” out of Lego in 2009 and in 2012, appearing on the show with the whole structure.
