Parliamentary Secretary Rudd Promotes Canadian Trade and Investment in Nevada

Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Secretary to Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources joined Canada’s Consul General (Los Angeles) in a program aimed at engaging Nevada legislators and decision makers in Carson City, Nevada on March 16th. Parliamentary Secretary Rudd met with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, state legislators, and industry leaders, to convey Canada’s importance to Nevada as a trade and investment partner. Ms. Rudd participated in a mining roundtable with academics, industry associations and Canadian investors, and attend the Canada Day reception at the Governor’s residence. Trade and investment with Canada account for close to 83,000 jobs and USD $2.4 billion in exports annually in Nevada. Canada’s mining companies are significant investors in Nevada’s economy, as well as key job creators, employing approximately 5,000 people in the state. Kim Rudd appeared on the Business News Network (BNN) and shared that talks went very well and her trip was a worth while experience.
