YMCA Northumberland celebrates local musicians with annual fundraiser

YMCA Strong Kids Rock will take the stage for its annual fundraising event at The Mill Restaurant and Pub on Saturday, June 17, 2017 beginning at 5 pm. Strong Kids Rock is a live music event featuring a variety of local bands and musicians. In only its fourth year, this popular event is an excellent way to kick-off summer while raising money for the 2017 YMCA Annual Strong Kids Campaign. This year, the event will feature local food, wine and beer, a silent auction, local bands and musicians and emcee, York Bell-Smith from 93.3 myFM and 107.9 Classic Rock. “There is no other event like Strong Kids Rock,” says Jim Murray, Volunteer Chair, Strong Kids Rock Committee. “The combination of amazing local music, awesome food, and the great atmosphere The Mill patio provides, equals an incredible experience for everyone. The way local musicians, businesses and volunteers come together to create this event, really shows the strength of our community, and the willingness to stand behind YMCA Strong Kids. I have been a YMCA volunteer for more than a decade and I see firsthand the difference participation has on the lives of kids, adults and seniors in our community.” Tickets are $25 per person and available at the Cobourg YMCA or on-line at ymcanorthumberland.com This event is generously sponsored by The Mill Restaurant and Pub, Long and McQuade, and The Kaitlyn Bates Initiative.

The band lineup for the evening is as follows: From 5-5:45 pm is Jack of Hearts, 6-6:45 pm is Head Case, 7-7:45 pm is Soulbound, 8-8:45 pm is Little Lake, 9-9:45 pm is Cale Crowe, 10-10:45 pm is Stolen Alibi and 11-11:45 pm is Jim Murray.
