Graham Beer to Report from Normandy France for the 75th Anniversary of Juno Beach and D-Day

Honourary Colonel Helen Vari, WII Veteran Stan Eddgerton, and Executive Producer Graham Beer at the Toronto Scottish Regiment on April 13, 2019.

Cobourg Media Executive Producer and Host Graham Beer has taken on the role of producing a special series titled Juno Remembered, The 75th Anniversary featuring WWII Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces, Government representatives and members of the Juno Beach Centre Association.

In partnership with Juno75 Co-Chair Helen Vari, The Juno Beach Centre Association and the Government of Canada Veteran Affairs, Graham will be travelling to Normandy France in June to capture the special events commemorating D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, 75 years later.

“It’s a privilege for me to have the opportunity to share the stories of our Canadian Veterans during this international commemoration,” said Graham Beer. “After reporting from the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge, I now have a profound appreciation and perspective for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Helen Vari, Juno75 Co-Chair and The Honourable Colonel of the Toronto Scottish Regiment invites all Canadians to remember the role Canada played in the outcome of World War II.

“Our Veterans fought for liberty and democracy in the world, and they were the winners. They made an extraordinary sacrifice and should be known as our national heroes. We need to do everything we can to be grateful for them, and to remember them” said Vari.

Some 14,000 World War II Canadian soldiers came ashore at Juno Beach in occupied France on June 6, 1944- a date known to history as D-Day. The Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force members also took part in Operation Overlord, as the massive allied assault was codenamed.

The Cobourg Media Special Presentation, Juno Remembered, The 75th Anniversary interview series will air on our social media platforms starting May 7, 2019. Visit cobourgmedia.ca/Juno75 for all of the videos and stories.
