The Town of Cobourg knows how to ring in the new year with the annual First Night Celebrations on December 31, starting at 6 pm.
This free, non-alcoholic event caters to a family-oriented crowd that can come and go as they please, offering activities that cater to physical activity or relaxation.
Outdoor activities begin at the Rotary Harbourfront Park with skating at the rink, and a horse drawn wagon ride along the Downtown.
Attendees will be surrounded by more than 130,000 lights from Christmas Magic, with decorated trees and countless festive displays set up along the Esplanade, waterfront and trailer park. The First Night New Year’s celebration will conclude with a fireworks display over the harbour at 9 p.m.
