Rogers Hometown Hockey Arrives in Cobourg this Weekend: FULL DETAILS

Rogers Hometown Hockey™ Presented by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone

Rogers Hometown Hockey is on the road and ready to make a stop here in Cobourg on January 4 and 5. Hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be on site for the festivities, which include meet-and-greet opportunities with NHL alumni Shayne Corson and Darcy Tucker, live local entertainment, and the live Sportsnet NHL broadcast. 

Other special guests expected to be in attendance include NHL alumni and Cobourg natives Gord Brooks and Steve Smith, iconic Sportsnet broadcaster Jim Hughson, and NHL on Sportsnet Analyst Chris Johnston. 

The two-day hockey festival begins on Saturday, January 4 at Noon at the Cobourg West Harbour, 103 Third Street, and will conclude on Sunday evening following the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party. The evening’s broadcast gets underway with a special pre-game show hosted by MacLean and Slone live from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a showdown between the Calgary Flames and Minnesota Wild, on Sportsnet, Sportsnet NOW and NHL LIVE.

Cobourg’s Pre-Party: Friday, January 3, 2020 Schedule

Community School Rally (Cobourg Community Centre, 1 p.m.)
This community event featuring LIVE Steve Goodtime Rockin’ Hockey Show will kick off the weekend from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre, 750 D’Arcy Street, Parking Lot. World-renowned hockey acrobat Steve Goodtime will perform his incredible family-friendly rock n’ roll hockey show packed with fire, juggling, stunts, and guitar solos.

Mayor’s Community Skate (Cobourg Community Centre, 2 p.m.)
Mayor John Henderson and Council invite you to skate at the Cobourg Community Centre, 750 D’Arcy Street, from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. The Town of Cobourg encourages you to wear your favourite team’s jersey and bring a non-perishable food item for the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank.

Join the Cobourg Cougars at 7:00 p.m. in the Cobourg Community Centre Bowl to celebrate Rogers Hometown Hockey in Cobourg. $2 from every ticket sold will be donated to Jack Bradimore and the Grace Bowen Tribute Fund.

Live Pre-Game and NHL Game Broadcast (Starting at 6:30 p.m.)
The mobile studio is the hub of all the broadcast action and the home of Ron MacLean and Tara Slone on Sunday night. You are invited to join MacLean and Slone at the Sportsnet Mobile studio for the viewing party to watch the pre-game show and the NHL broadcast game of the Calgary Flames vs. Minnesota Wild.

Throughout the viewing party, there will be FREE pizza and hot chocolate, and you will have a chance to win awesome prize giveaways including tickets to an NHL game and autographed jerseys.

The live broadcast of the festival will feature stories and interviews highlighting Cobourg’s hockey community throughout the pre-game, intermissions and post-game.
