Inaugural Ontario Cup Road Race Comes to Northumberland County

On May 12, 2018, The Northumberland Classic Road Race will take place in the Baltimore area attracting over 400 provincial, national and international cyclists of all ages. It’s the first race of its kind to be held in Northumberland with riders competing for cash prizes and Ontario Cup points.

This challenging Ontario Cup Road Race #4 is being staged by Performance Driven Events. “The course is now home to the longest and toughest climb in the Ontario Cup Series!” says President, Greg Rawson. “Each loop will consist of 225 meters of elevation through the rolling hills of Northumberland.”

The Northumberland Classic course will consist of a 16.5km loop in addition to a 3km out and back. Races will start and finish at the Baltimore Recreation Complex and will get underway at 8:30 am with two further starts at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm respectively.

“It’s exciting to see this level of cycling come to Northumberland,” says Jim Crosscombe Ontario Cycling CEO. “This should be an exciting and challenging day of cycling!”
