Three years ago Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was elected to lead our country and on Friday night, the celebrating continued right here in Cobourg.

Trudeau was in town at the LIUNA Local 183 union hall to officially announce that Kim Rudd would be the Liberal candidate in the riding of Northumberland-Peterborough South.

“It is a great opportunity to celebrate 3 years since the election with a dear friend Kim, and a great community that is so strong and working hard to create Canada’s success,” said Trudeau standing in the crowd of supporters with MP Rudd. “We are working hard to keep politics positive.”

Standing on a podium surrounded by supporters, Rudd and Trudeau set out a vocal plan to invite Canadians to join “Team Trudeau” and to focus on a positive plan that strengthens the middle class, grow the economy, and make life better for families.

Kim Rudd was proud to have the Prime Minister as her special guest:

“I’m going to be the next candidate for the 2019 federal election and the Prime Minister was here to celebrate that. It’s a very big day,” said Rudd.

Trudeau thanked those who had previously sent his office letters of support. Relaying the confidence and strong stance on the new trilateral trade pact, climate change efforts, and growing the economy.
